It certainly seems like ignoring the unfavourable weather forecast worked out great for us, since other than being a little windy, the weather turned out pretty nice. We again enjoyed a great turnout, with 26 shooters taking part. Six of us set up 15 lanes, with two targets per lane, including one standing lane and one kneeling lane. The average course difficulty was 35.6T.

Including the five juniors, we had thirteen shooters competing in the Hunter Division. Two shooters were taking part for the first time and both did very well. Dan shot another fine match, taking first place in the adult section, followed by Tony who has been improving very quickly. Rob took the third place medal this time. Michael had a very good day for a first time shooter.

In the Junior Hunter section, Braden was mowing the targets down again and placed first with an excellent score. Many are happy that Braden is still a junior and they do not have to compete against him. Gillian seems to be getting back to form and placed second, with Hailey taking third. Clayton and Jothan, a new shooter, did very well for themselves.

The Open PCP Division was once again very well attended. The scores are starting to rise, even though the difficulty is rising as well. That is a good sign, with the Nationals less than three weeks away. Although Don complained of some mental mistakes, he certainly did not make many of them, pulling off a 57/60 to take first place. Dennis E claimed second, followed closely by Magdy at third and Dennis L rounded out the medal winners at fourth. It was nice to see Salma again, shooting very well and Joel moved up to the FT section of the competition and scored very well for a first try in a tough division.

We had six competing in the WFTF Division, with three in Piston and three in PCP. In the Piston section, George had a good day with his TX on a pretty difficult course, placing first, followed by Ted and Tom P.

Chris was the top gun in the WFTF PCP section, followed by myself in second and Tom J in third. Tomís scores are steadily improving and it will not be long before he is wearing a medal home after a match.

Not wasting the great weather, we shot for quite a while on the sight in range after the match, which is always great fun, trying out other peopleís guns and scopes as well as sharing your guns. This is a great help for those wanting to purchase a gun or upgrade what they have.

We started getting hungry, so we pulled the targets, cleaned up the clubhouse and eight of us headed to a fishery, right on the canal in Port Colborne. Fresh caught pickerel, fries and coleslaw sure hit the spot. Just after 7:30 PM, we all headed home after another great day.

Thanks to all who attended and helped out. Please remember the Nationals are on July 10th and 11th at the Port Club. If you have not already contacted me about attendance, please do so as soon as you can. We are going to have a great time with the regulars and shooters coming up from four States in the US. You do not want to miss this one. See you there.
